2008 Austn. of the Year
Lee is one of Australia's most popular country singers with 24 Golden Guitar Awards to his name. His empathy with drought stricken farmers and his efforts to assist their plight inspired his 'Pass The Hat Around' Tour to bring help and caring to this special group. He represents the essence of the spirit of contemporary rural Australia.
His first band The Blue Devils comprised of brother Greg, sister Tania and a friend. They played school fetes and charity concerts. In 1982 Lee won Star Maker in Tamworth. It took the next 10 years before he burst into national prominence in the early 90s with his first album "The Outback Club". In 1994, he became Australia's biggest selling artist with record tour attendances and record sales for "Three Chain Road".
Lee has won numerous Golden Guitars at the CMAA Awards, five MO Awards and the Variety Club's Entertainer of the Year.
