Evonne is one of Australia’s pre-eminent sporting legends. She dominated the tennis circuit during the 1970’s, winning Wimbeldon, the French Open and the British Hard Court Championships in the same year. In 1972 she was awarded an MBE, and the Order of Australia ten years later, following up with induction into the International Tennis Hall of Fame. Today, Evonne actively facilitates Aboriginal access to sport through her Evonne Goolagong Cawley Trust, and works to increase female participation in tennis.
