Beaconsfield miners Todd Russell and Brant Webb have a team of rescuers to thank for their lives; none more so than Darren Flanagan. Emotions charged to the limits Darren was acutely aware of the pressure he carried. For 29 hours straight Darren slowly carved his path to within 300mm (one foot) of the trapped men by firing explosives. The world had never seen a rescue of this kind before. The moving story of this humble hero is both inspirational and courageous. |
