Time and time again we see the fruits of passion in human achievements, and Jason Bargwanna is no exception. With his young eye firmly on racing cars, Jason realised his dream and hasn’t stopped. His first major racing success came in 1992 winning Class C at Bathurst. 1997 saw him runner-up in the in the Formula Holden Championship and in the same year he moved into V8 Supercars. Now racing with Ford, Jason continues to replay his child-hood dream Culminating in his win at Bathurst.
Jason’s first major success in motor racing came in 1992 when, sharing a Toyota Corolla with his cousin Scott, he won Class C at Bathurst.
In 1996 he came runner-up in the Formula Ford Championship and then runner-up in the Formula Holden Championship in 1997. In the same year he moved into V8 Supercars with the Holden Young Lions but became a full time V8 Supercar driver in 1998 with the Valvoline Cummins team and finished third in only his second championship round, had his first V8 race win at Calder as well as a sensational 3rd at Bathurst with Jim Richards.
In 1999 he scored his first Championship round win at Winton, then went on to win another round at Winton the following year, the 2000 Bathurst title and a round win this year at Indy. There are numerous other podium placings throughout Jason’s first 5 years in the premier category.
Jason Bargwanna has made the switch over to Ford for 2003/4 and beyond and will be driving for the newly expanded Mark Larkham/Orrcon Racing team.
A polished media performer and keen PR advocate Jason has also injected much needed personality into the ranks of Australia's elite racing car drivers. When away from the track Jason keeps himself busy with promotional work for the team's main sponsors Wright Pattern Shakespeare and WOW. Jason Bargwanna knows about dedication and the sacrifices needed to become successful which makes him an obvious choice as a sports speaker or motivaitonal speaker for your next function.
