Leadership Valueologist

Leadership Valueologist - person fully committed to the art, life-long learning, unlearning and relearning, and daily practice of fully appreciating and getting the best out of themselves and other people, and ensuring people feel valued, live values and deliver value.

Ian Berry has observed consistently over more than a quarter of a century of working with more than 1000 leaders, women and men, in over 40 countries that in the most remarkable workplaces people feel valued, live values, and deliver value. To make this happen leadership valueologists are essential.

He has also witnessed that a very special kind of management and culture are essential as is applying proven principles in your own best way.

He has learned that the sure-fire pathway to co-create this kind of a workplace is to increase the number of people being remarkable, and doing meaningful for them and highly valuable for others work.

The key consequence of above is better business results at less personal cost. This is the holy grail in the new world of work and the purpose of my tailored work with you. In this brave new world being a human being fully alive and ensuring technology is enhancing the human experience are paramount.

At the end of his corporate career he was leading a $100million AUD business unit with responsibility for over 300 employees.

When he left the corporate world to start his own mentoring, speaking and leadership and cultural development practice, he thought people would want to know about his pathway to success, particularly as he started at the very bottom of the ladder.

Ian discovered that his way was unlikely to work for you as well as it did for him. He also discovered that he was competing with a myriad of people teaching their way to success. Their way wasn’t working for you as well as it did for them either.

Ian learned a different way to what the many offer - Work with you and help you in your own best way, to apply proven principles. Ian's signature has become "what I say is important, yet nowhere near as important as what you hear yourself say to yourself, who you become and then do your own unique work.

Ian was one of the pioneers of one-page plans. These have evolved over a quarter of a century to include One quantum leap at a time momentum, One sentence strategy, One page role clarity, One page performance development/strategy execution plans, One focus conversations, One purpose meetings, One message story-sharing, One module at a time learning, One page agreements, One shift at a time change initiatives, One great idea at a time innovation

Ian gave an excellent talk to MD2MD - a group of challenging Managing Directors. He challenged them, he gave them food for thought and he gave them useful practical take away tools that they could use the next day. I'd recommend him strongly.

I first met Ian when he was a keynote speaker at an Institute of Directors meeting in UK. His delivery on the subject matter he presented on was passionate, sincere and his wisdom quite simply compelling. It was clear to me from first hearing him speak, that Ian is indeed a unique and influential individual, who has a great gift for sharing experiences and stopping people in their tracks and encouraging them to ask questions that affect all of us in our daily lives, but often we are too busy at work for example to either care or notice what is going on around us. Life after all, is not a dress rehearsal. Since then I have been able to actively benefit from Ian's guidance and advice, which have helped my focus and leadership skills from both a personal and business level and I trust in consequence become better balanced in how I strive to conduct myself and contribute more to what I perceive to be my social responsibilities. I count Ian as a good mentor and value his input, support and guidance.

Ian's talent in demystifying the complexities of 'Corporate Social Responsibility'(CSR) are evident not only in his down-to-earth e-books but also in his speaking ability. He is dynamic, well organized, uses interesting visual aids and inspires a commitment to action among his audience. Ian deals with the concept of 'Managerial Leadership' in a real and effective manner. He inspired me by prompting cues that give way to introspection and finding the leader within.
